Fotona's new XP-2 Focus provides a wide range of popular surgical procedures and more! With its additional long pulse Nd:YAG laser you can offer revenue-boosting transdermal aesthetic treatments. It is your most cost-effective answer to offering patients the most in-demand aesthetic and surgical treatments.
Advanced Performance
With a power-generating capacity of 30W in QCW mode surgical treatments are performed faster and with less effort. Success rates are exceptionally high in the long-term and recovery times are significantly shortened. Also in transdermal aesthetic treatments its advanced performance characteristics ensure that treatments with spotsizes of up to 8 mm and fluences of up to 300 J/cm2 remain effective and efficient.
Dual Modes
The XP-2 Focus combines QCW and PULSE Nd:YAG laser modes of operation. This provides an exceptionally wide applications range. With the XP-2 Focus you can perform the trendiest surgical aesthetic procedures as well as offer Golden Standard, revenue-boosting transdermal aesthetic procedures.
Multiple Surgical Sets
Fotona offers an ever increasing range of compatible, re-useable surgical sets eliminating the need to continuously invest in expensive technologies and upgrades to keep of with the latest trends in aesthetic surgery.
VSP Technology
The XP-2 Focus offers a wide range of pulse duration settings allowing surgeons to precisely determine the thermal effect on the target tissue, providing unprecedented procedure control. VSP Technology provides square-shaped pulses, avoiding the slow rise and longer fall in pulse power common in less advanced laser platforms. No unnecessary laser energy is delivered providing safer and more effective treatments.
Adjustable Spotsize
The XP-2 Focus offers a convenient 2 to 8 mm spotsize range for transdermal aesthetic procedures. This does not only influence treatment speed and efficiency but also offers extra precision when performing delicate procedures in complex topographical areas.
EFC Technology
Energy Feedback Control Technology actively matches the energy level of each individually generated laser pulse with the desired treatment energy settings, avoiding uncontrolled energy fluctuations, and thus ensuring treatment safety and efficacy. EFC technology eliminates the need for frequent manual calibration procedures.
Verrucae Treatments
Using Fotona's Er:YAG and Nd:YAG wavelengths in combination enables treatment of a wide variety of warts and verrucae.
The Er:YAG laser is ideally suited to the very precise ablation of warts, while the Nd:YAG laser's targeted absorption in vascular tissue induces coagulation of the blood vessels feeding the wart, causing its subsequent necrosis.
Both sources' antibacterial effects promote faster healing and lower the possibility of recurrence, acting on the virus that causes verrucae.
Rosacea Treatments
The flexibility, precise control and homogenous absorption of Fotona's Nd:YAG range of lasers are ideally suited to the treatment of all symptoms of rosacea.
They can be used to treat the small, superficial veins while also having the ability to penetrate and treat larger, deeper vascular lesions. This enables the complete treatment of these symptoms by laser.
Acute Acne Treatments
Fotona Nd:YAG laser's homogeneous absorption and deep penetration is perfectly suited to preventing and reducing active acne inflammation. It eradicates the bacteria causing the inflammation and also promotes collagen regeneration to improve the tone and texture of the skin.
Skin Toning, Tightening and Texture Improvements (T3)
Fotona's T3 treatment utilizes the unique properties of the VSP-shaped Nd:YAG laser to tone, tighten and improve the texture of the skin.
T3 treatments use the selective absorption of the Nd:YAG laser wavelength, depositing controlled heat into the dermis having passed harmlessly through the uppermost layer of skin. This thermal effect induces collagen remodeling and new collagen formation, producing the toning, tightening and texture improvements.
Laser Hair Removal
The deep penetration of Fotona's Nd:YAG laser ensures it reaches even the deepest follicles, while its low absorption in all skin types makes sure the surrounding tissue is preserved. This guarantees safe, fast and effective hair removal, even in the darkest skin types, without the epidermal damage other light-based treatments inherently cause.
Vascular Lesion & Unsightly Vein Treatments
Fotona's Nd:YAG laser is well-suited to treat a whole range of unsightly veins and vascular lesions in all skin types. Its strong absorption in hemoglobin balanced against deep penetration allows even the deepest and largest unsightly veins to be treated. High versatility in parameter selection ensures maximum treatment efficiency and speed and the minimum of patient discomfort.
FRAC3®
FRAC3® is Fotona's unique rejuvenation and anti-aging treatment modality. It is a non-ablative modality that creates a three-dimensional pattern of thermally micro-damage zones. The micro-damage zones are exactly created there where age-related skin irregularities are located. FRAC3® consists of a 3D, self-induced fractional effect that is only achievable with Accelera mode pulses.
Endovenous laser ablation
Fotona's QCW Nd:YAG laser has a particular affinity to be absorbed in hemoglobin which makes it an ideal choice for endovenous laser treatments. Its highest performance characteristics, combined with its selectivity and precision which limit thermals effects to the target tissue, provide minimal patient discomfort, exceptional success rates and shortened recovery times. Less charring at the fiber tip end increases the fiber's lifetime and is associated with reduced procedure risk.
Laser-assisted lipolysis
Fotona QCW Nd:YAG can be considered as a Golden Standard in aesthetic surgery. It's application in laser-assisted lipolysis has been tested and proven to be safe and effective. Its specific advantage compared to other sources is its relative lower absorption in water, through which its treatment efficacy in interstitial treatments using tumescent fluid techniques is not compromised, VSP Technology provides the QCW Nd:YAG the widest range of selectable pulse durations available today, allowing thermal effects to be adjusted to the desired clinical outcome.

Highest Performance in Aesthetic Surgery

This paper presents a study in which endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) of saphenous veins with a VSP Nd:YAG laser system (Fotona, Ljubljana, Slovenija) was conducted on 525 legs.

A novel self-induced non-ablative threedimensional fractional FRAC3® method for skin rejuvenation.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the rapidly growing use of Nd:YAG 1064 nm lasers for laser lipolysis, and to compare this wavelength with other wavelengths used for laser lipolysis in terms of safety and efficacy. The results show that the Nd:YAG 1064 nm wavelength is the optimal wavelength for laser lipolysis in terms of safety and efficacy.
