Dr. Steven A. Burman, a third-generation dentist, received his dental degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (Newark, NJ). He completed a General Practice Residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (New Brunswick, NJ) and became interested in advanced dental technology. He was a clinical investigator during the FDA trials for Erbium:YAG approval for decay removal in 1993 and has experienced the evolution of laser technology in practice. He is a Past President and Member of the Academy of Laser Dentistry, maintains Mastership Status (Er:YAG and Nd: YAG) through the ALD, is a Laser Educator and Examiner, a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry, and a Member of the Florida Dental Association, American Dental Association, Atlantic Coast District Dental Society, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. He has presented lectures, and written articles, on modern technology in practice, lasers, cosmetic dentistry, and general dental issues relevant to the community. Dr. Burman owns two Fotona lasers and continues to train dentists interested in assimilating this technology into their practice.
