Minimally Invasive Laser Gynecology Arrives in Azerbaijan

3 July 2013

Interest in Fotona's gynecological treatments among the local Azerbaijani medical community is significant and growing. Prof. Faiza Aliyeva, Chief Gynecologist at the Ministry of Health in Azerbaijan, was the first to evaluate Fotona’s laser gynecology technology after seeing a first-hand presentation of the novel FotonaSmooth™ system at the 2012 FIGO World Congress in Rome.

Following the subsequent commissioning of the first minimally invasive gynecology laser system in the country, a two-day Fotona training program was organized by Fotona and its local distribution partner Vitta Medical, from 24-25 June in the capital city Baku. The first day of the training program included a lecture attended by more than 40 Azerbaijani gynecologists & urologists who were eager to learn more about the company’s minimally invasive procedures.

The full event, which introduced Fotona’s minimally invasive IncontiLase™ and IntimaLase™ procedures and included live treatments on four female patients with stress incontinence, was also attended by active members of the staff of the Scientific Research Institute of Gynecology.
