Fotona SMOOTH® Outshines the Competition at FIGO in Rio De Janeiro

23 October 2018

From the 13th - 20th of October, Rio de Janeiro hosted the 22nd FIGO World Congress of Gynecology and Obstetrics –  the largest global congress bringing together more than 11,000 obstetricians, gynecologists and related health professionals from around the world.

The Fotona team successfully presented the company’s latest research on minimally-invasive treatments for genitourinary disorders based on the ground-breaking Fotona SMOOTH® laser technology. In the scientific program, Dr. Adrian Gaspar presented Efficacy of Erbium:YAG Laser Treatment Compared to Topical Estriol Treatment for Vaginal Atrophy Symptoms” and Dr. Adolf Lukanovič presented research about "Intraurethral laser therapy: a novel approach in the treatment of intrinsic sphincter deficiency (ISD)". Both lectures were very well attended, with practitioners showing immense interest in the topic. The Fotona booth at FIGO also witnessed an exceptionally high level of attendance this year, especially during our “Meet the expert” lectures, which were a particular favorite with congress attendees.
