The Laser and Health Academy Continues to Grow
27 May 2010
Last week at the first annual Laser and Health Academy mini conference held in Bled, Slovenia, authoritative laser practitioners and experts introduced how lasers can be used in aesthetic medicine (dermatology and surgery). The honorary new LAHA members presented their experience with skin rejuvenation using the Er:YAG and Nd:YAG Fotona lasers (Dr. Marini); Variable Square Pulse (VSP) technology used with the Er:YAG laser on Asian skin (Dr. Manuskiatti); hair transplantation using Er:YAG (Dr. Lekic); two years experience in laser treatment of auxiliary hyperhidrosis, laser lipolysis, laser assisted lipoplasty and endovenous laser treatment (Dr. Maletić); and pigmented lesions removal with Fotona's QX Max laser system (Dr. Saracoglu).
The LAHA conference was a great success, proving that lasers are a must have in aesthetic medicine, producing excellent results and greater patient acceptance. With the ever-growing list of LAHA members, the sharing and promotion of evidence-based laser medicine will undoubtedly improve treatment standards and efficiency. As Samo Pirnat, director of LAHA explained: "We are extremely proud that the Laser and Health Academy is growing in members. With the cooperation of experienced medical practitioners we are able to continuously and successfully advance medical, technical and scientific knowledge in the field of lasers and their application in medicine."
