We would like to inform you that IdealDent, the Turkish Fotona partner in laser dentistry, Gaziantep University – Faculty of Dentistry and the Gaziantep Chamber of Dentistry are organizing the 1st Idealclub Knowledge Sharing Days event which will focus on the use of lasers in dental implantology. The symposium will take place from 4th to 6th of June 2010 in Gaziantep, Turkey.

We would like to inform you that the Sharjah University Laser Training and Research Center (SULTARC) is organizing a three-day course on Aesthetic medicine form May 29th to May 31st 2010 at the University of Sharjah, UAE.

The Laser and Health Academy and the University of Sharjah - Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences have established The Sharjah University Laser Training and Research Center (or SULTARC).

Fotona has co-developed Wavelength-optimized Periodontal Therapy(TM) (WPT(TM)) with US partner Lares Research. WPT(TM) is a minimally invasive method for treating periodontal disease using fully optimized Nd:YAG and Er:YAG laser with the AT Fidelis.

During his visit to Fotona’s headquarters in Monday 7th December 2009, Dr. Fornaini presented his latest findings in laser welding in dentistry to Laser and Health Academy members. With that Dr. Fornaini also accepted the Academy’s invitation to become its latest Clinical Expert Lecturer in the field of laser dentistry.

Autumn 2009 has seen the successful launch of Fotona’s latest Erbium:YAG-based laser system, XS Dynamis, in Europe, the Americas and Asia. Laser & Health Academy experts, in cooperation with the Josef Stefan Institute’s Light and Matter Department and the University of Ljubljana’s Biotechnical Faculty have published a paper outlining the results of their study on the physical properties of Quasi Continuous Wave pulsed, 1064 nm, Nd:YAG laser in lipolysis.

Fotona and the European Society for Laser Dermatology (ESLD) have engaged in an agreement through which Fotona becomes an official industry member of the organization.

Dr. Ron Kaminer is the Newest Expert Clinical Lecturer for the Laser and Health Academy. In his inaugural lecture he presented a series of cases. Fotona and the Laser and Health Academy announce that Dr. Paul Steventon has become the newest member on the Academy’s board of Clinical Expert Lecturers. Representing the UK-based Epsom Skin Clinic and Forever Young Medical Aesthetics, Dr. Steventon will be working actively with Fotona and the Academy on advancing medical, technical and scientific knowledge, particularly in the field of laser lipolysis and laser-assisted liposuction.
