Dr. Jugoslav Jovanović, DDS has become the newest Laser and Health Academy expert clinical lecturer. Dr. Jovanović received his expert lecturer certificate from LAHA following his presentation of the new TouchWhiteTM laser tooth-whitening method at the dental office of Dr. Katarina Svahnstrom in Uppsala, Sweden on 24 November 2010.

June 15th, 2010. Last week, Dr. Mark P. Colonna became the newest Laser and Health Academy expert clinical lecturer and presented new treatment methods in the field of endodontics and periodontics.

June 11th, 2010. The Laser and Health Academy's Expert Clinical Lecturer, Zoran Lekic, MD, presented the numerous advantages of using Fotona’s VSP Er:YAG laser - as opposed to conventional (punch, needle or knife) or CO2 laser methods - in hair transplantation.

May 27th, 2010. The Laser and Health Academy (LAHA) has accepted five new reference doctors to its already impressive list of prominent members.

Fotona was honored by a visit of Charles H. Townes to its exhibit during the ASLMS 2010 annual conference. Dr. Matjaz Lukac, Fotona President, had the privilege of meeting with Charles H. Townes, the Nobel Prize-winning physicist and educator, to introduce Fotona’s latest Dynamis range of laser systems.

We would like to inform you that IdealDent, the Turkish Fotona partner in laser dentistry, Gaziantep University – Faculty of Dentistry and the Gaziantep Chamber of Dentistry are organizing the 1st Idealclub Knowledge Sharing Days event which will focus on the use of lasers in dental implantology. The symposium will take place from 4th to 6th of June 2010 in Gaziantep, Turkey.

We would like to inform you that the Sharjah University Laser Training and Research Center (SULTARC) is organizing a three-day course on Aesthetic medicine form May 29th to May 31st 2010 at the University of Sharjah, UAE.

The Laser and Health Academy and the University of Sharjah - Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences have established The Sharjah University Laser Training and Research Center (or SULTARC).

Fotona has co-developed Wavelength-optimized Periodontal Therapy(TM) (WPT(TM)) with US partner Lares Research. WPT(TM) is a minimally invasive method for treating periodontal disease using fully optimized Nd:YAG and Er:YAG laser with the AT Fidelis.

Fotona’s AT Fidelis - the All Tissue laser dentistry platform - features in a study report on heat deposition of Erbium lasers in hard dental tissues, published in the Journal of Oral Laser Applications (winter 2009 issue).

During his visit to Fotona’s headquarters in Monday 7th December 2009, Dr. Fornaini presented his latest findings in laser welding in dentistry to Laser and Health Academy members. With that Dr. Fornaini also accepted the Academy’s invitation to become its latest Clinical Expert Lecturer in the field of laser dentistry.

Autumn 2009 has seen the successful launch of Fotona’s latest Erbium:YAG-based laser system, XS Dynamis, in Europe, the Americas and Asia.
